Vibrant red and gold wedding in London

Jen and Scott had a very specific colour scheme for their summer wedding in London, every flower had to be shades of either red or gold.

Jen's bridal bouquet was filled with vibrant bold garden Roses, flaming red Zinnias and scarlet Dahlias, we added touches of gold with yellow and orange Marigolds and blowsy buttercup coloured garden Roses.

The delicate buttonholes were wrapped in tonal ombre silk ribbons, each buttonhole slightly different to the last and filled with unusual homegrown garden flowers.

Their wedding breakfast centrepieces were filled with bold red and gold flowers, dotted down their long dining tables, intermingled with single flower stems in tiny ceramic red pomegranates. At the end of the evening a few of Jen and Scott's lucky guests were able to take home a centrepiece, to treasure for a few more days.

Autumnal Wedding in Devon

Jess & Rick, Huntsham Court, Devon

In September last year we created flowers in the beautiful Huntsham Court in Devon for Jess and Rick. Jess and Rick's colour palette was packed with autumnal shades and textures, with burnt orange Rudbeckia, burgundy blowsy Roses and delicate cream Dahlias. Jess's bouquet was accented with speckled toad Lilies and trailing Cobaea vines.
Her bridesmaids carried bouquets and had wrist corsages both wrapped in vibrant blue silk.

In the church in the grounds of Huntsham we created two large statement urn arrangements, each with tumbling vines, golden amaranth and tall fluffy grasses.

The long tables for the wedding breakfast were decorated with central vase arrangements and vines with ivy draped along each table, intertwined around the flowers.

In the large entrance hall we wrapped wild garlands around each pillar and created natural upright meadows at the base with a matching installation piece on the fireplace.

The buttonholes were also tied with blue silk ribbon, and the groom's Scottish heritage was celebrated with a single blue thistle in his buttonhole.

I don't just do pink flowers, I promise.

Honestly I don't just do pink flowers. It just happens to be my favourite right now, lets says I am stuck in my pink phase.
I feel white might be my next, maybe with a hint of pink...

Flowers from late summer 2016.

Flower Filled 2016

2016 definitely had its highs and lows, but right now looking back on all the flowers that were created I would say there were far more highs.

In 2016 we ran the first couple of flower courses on the farm, it was both incredibly fun and a learning curve. It also made me realise that I really enjoy teaching and the farm is the perfect location for it. So in 2017 there will be a LOT more courses happening, including some really exciting collaborations with some wonderfully talented people. WORKSHOP LINK

Above and below are a couple of polaroids Joanna Brown took when she came and snapped my first workshop in 2016.

2016 was full of so many beautiful weddings, weddings that challenged and pushed me (and CJF...) logistically and creatively. Thank you to all of the Brides and Grooms from 2016, you helped me achieve so much and get the most of a year of flowers, letting me loose to be as creative with flowers as I wanted. Thank you also to all the lovely freelancers who helped out along the way, I couldn't of done it without you.

I also made a LOT of flowers for myself in 2016, whenever there were leftovers or an abundance of blooms on the farm I would get lost in my studio making something purely for pleasure and a little for practise...
Below are some of the highlights of 2016, mainly behind the scenes and flowers for me, with a few wedding flowers in there and some images of flowers I created when freelancing for others over the course of 2016, which I hope to do more of in 2017.

Happy New Year.
Lets see what 2017 has to offer!

2017 - More flowers for me, more challenges, BIGGER flowers and maybe to become a little less camera shy. Oh and a Valentines Pop Up shop in Bristol...

Buttonhole Obsession

Buttonholes are easily my favourite things to make, hence why I am always sneaking round my flower patch searching for the best tiny blooms to use, they are miniature wearable bouquets!
