Summer wedding on an Essex Island

In August last year we loaded up the van and headed for the Essex coastline, our destination was Osea Island. Osea Island is an island in the River Blackwater that our lovely couple Martha and Ed had hired for the weekend.

Their secret garden ceremony had an aisle lined with bunches of seasonal foliage tied to vintage chairs with silk. A very large statement urn stood at the entrance to the garden filled with large Cafe au Lait Dahlias and trailing mile a minute vines.

Martha and Ed held their wedding breakfast within an old industrial building on the island, the Powerhouse, this was a great space with a blank canvas for us to create a focal point.
Martha trusted us completely to create a wild installation piece for behind the top table. This large wild and sprawling installation piece bloomed out of the window as if growing through the cracks in the wall, using vines and seasonal foliage we created delicate intertwining gardens that covered the wall behind the top table.
Their wedding breakfast tables were decorated with simple glass bottles and vessels with small arrangements and single stems, we gathered tiny perfectly coloured apricots that were growing in the secret garden to add to the tablescape.

Unique Essex Wedding Flowers

The installation piece was filled with tall elegant white Cosmos, fluffy white Scabious, pale delicate pink and cream garden Roses and dainty Japanese Anemones.

Martha carried a bouquet packed full of heady garden Roses, delicate Hydrangeas and evening scented Nicotiana, wrapped in simple cream and pale pink silk ribbons.

Shout out to Paula & Lily, who made the weekend very memorable. The planner was Charlie from London Bride.

Vibrant red and gold wedding in London

Jen and Scott had a very specific colour scheme for their summer wedding in London, every flower had to be shades of either red or gold.

Jen's bridal bouquet was filled with vibrant bold garden Roses, flaming red Zinnias and scarlet Dahlias, we added touches of gold with yellow and orange Marigolds and blowsy buttercup coloured garden Roses.

The delicate buttonholes were wrapped in tonal ombre silk ribbons, each buttonhole slightly different to the last and filled with unusual homegrown garden flowers.

Their wedding breakfast centrepieces were filled with bold red and gold flowers, dotted down their long dining tables, intermingled with single flower stems in tiny ceramic red pomegranates. At the end of the evening a few of Jen and Scott's lucky guests were able to take home a centrepiece, to treasure for a few more days.

Unique Dorset wedding with wildflowers

In late August 2017 we headed down to Dorset for Catherine and Thomas' Summer wedding, it was the perfect weather for their outdoor ceremony and marquee wedding.

Unique dorset wedding flowers

Catherine's bouquet was filled with blowsy cream and pink Roses, lace like Hydrangeas, delicate caramel Phlox and the most exquisite pale pink Hollyhock, all of the best blooms that late Summer had to offer.

It was the perfect mixture of dirty pink and cream with just a few hints of gold, finished off with long trailing silk ribbons in ombre pink and white.

Thomas and his groomsmens' buttonholes were delicate little bunches of dark pink Roses, Nigella seed pods and wild seasonal garden pickings. Each just a little different to the last, and then tied with white silk ribbon.

Catherine and Thomas were married at the groom's family home, opting for an outdoor ceremony. We designed a unique bespoke ceremony backdrop created with arching branches of seasonal foliage and vines, with wild garden inspired meadow footers filled with fluffy tall grasses and seasonal summer blooms.
