Summer Garden Bridal Class
Summer Garden Bridal Class
Summer in the garden provides us with so many beautiful flowers, from bold blowsy garden roses in every perfect shade of pink and gold to tall delicate Queen Anne's lace, the contrasts of texture and shapes are endlessly inspiring.
Join us for a day filled with the best summer has to offer, create a delicate wild bridal bouquet with garden Roses, climbing vines and speckled Poppies. Then after a leisurely lunch in the garden spend the afternoon creating an intricate centrepiece.
The class will be held on June 19th, from 10.30am - 4.30pm.
Summer in the flower garden is an assault on your senses, there is so much in bloom, so much to choose from when picking to create. Our summer growing season is truly in full swing at this point, with the Rose garden filled with the heady scent of garden Roses and the flower rows are filled with pale scabious, showy snapdragons and towering Queen Anne's lace.
We will begin the day with tea and coffee in the barn where India will talk through the flowers and her process, followed by a short walk around the nursery where India grows her flowers. The flower garden will be bursting with life and you will have the opportunity to wander and pick extra flowers throughout the day for your arrangements.
We will then re-group in the barn where India will give a demo of how she creates a natural loose bridal bouquet. You will then create your own bouquet with as much or as little guidance from India as you would like. Before we break for lunch (served in the garden weather permitting) we will talk through your creations and then finish offer by tieing your bouquet with trailing delicate silk ribbons.
The afternoon will begin with India demonstrating how she creates a summer wedding centrepiece, you will then spend the afternoon intricately creating your own centrepiece, in a vase created by a local potter. Again India will be on hand to offer as much guidance as you wish.
Your vase and flowers will be yours to take home.
All materials will be provided for you to use including aprons and snips.
This class is for all abilities, whether you are a florist and want to explore your style more, or a beginner who needs a little encouragement to find your love of flowers.
Please bring a camera or smartphone to photograph your work.
The class will be held on June 19th, from 10.30am - 4pm.
